Aluminum Extrusion Process

Aluminum extrusion is the process in which aluminum is made into the desired shape and size.

It starts out with a CAD design, in which the requested shape is designed on a computer. Then, you have to select the aluminum alloy to use. This is a very important step as it determines the properties of the aluminum.

The next step is when you heat the aluminum alloy to a temperature in which the alloy becomes more malleable.

Soon, the aluminum alloy will be pushed through a mold with the wanted shape, then cooled till the metal is solid. The metal is cut and,if wanted, subjected to heat treatment and surface finishing.
