Aluminum Usage in Automobiles

Aluminum is often used in automotives thanks to its lightweight,

resistance to deterioration from chemical reactions, and strength, allowing more efficient and durable cars.  Engine blocks frequently use this robust material to increase fuel efficiency by reducing mass, and also for aluminum’s ability to tolerate many chemical reactions.  Aluminum wheels have better handling and acceleration than steel. Other structural parts are also taking advantage of the lightweight and strength of aluminum. These parts include the roof, door frame, hoods, and trunk, making the vehicle more efficient while offering protection too.
